I'm about to move to Europe. I'm about to go on a month-long adventure with four people I don't know, in a country I've never been to, with nothing but a suitcase and a backpack and a bank account waiting to be drained.
Gareth just emailed around our program schedule for the full month. I think I needed that list of activities to look forward to for me to even get a bit excited for this journey I'll be embarking on in three days. A concentration camp, field trips to the coast and to London, visits to friends in Paris and Salzburg, a theme park, a royal palace tour, and loads of unexpected treasures await me!

Of course I wish I could take people with me, but (like college) this is something I really want to do alone. I failed that in college, so I'm not about to mess up here. This is the chance of a lifetime, and I'm living it!
And no, I won't be missing all of the Invisible Children hype while I'm gone, lest you worry. June 22 and 23 mark the biggest conference IC has ever seen: Lobby Days--How It Ends. We have legislation on the floor and 1100 people so far have signed up to go to Capitol Hill and push for its signing and passage. Yes, it is true I will not be able to attend this glorious event to reconnect with all my friends from The Rescue.
However, conveniently (coincidentally) built into my class schedule is a trip to London on no other date than Monday June 22. With a short weekend trip to the city ending in class on Monday, I've extended my trip to include the UK's largest Invisible Children event of the year! At 7:00 the Discover the Unseen event will begin with clips from new IC media, live music, drinks, friends, and more! Sound like an ad? That's because I pulled it directly from their Facebook announcement. What are the odds that just hours after I receive notice that we'll have class in London on the 22nd I also receive a facebook notification that there will be an event that same night? I was invited by someone I don't even know! Call it divine intervention or whatever you want, that was bizarre.
And I'll be back in Brussels by 10am on Tuesday. ;)I'm so ready for this trip it's ridiculous....well, I still have to pack...and get everything together...and actually think about the trip. But apart from that, I'm so there! Wish me luck!
